Regular Chinese Language Courses for Adults
Options: Multi-weeks such as 6-, 8-, 10-, and 14-week options with 4 hours of instruction per week (2 hours/class, twice/week)
Dates: Variable Fall, Winter, Spring, and Summer; roughly based on UMD academic schedule
Times: 7-9 p.m. (The teacher can change the time schedule depending on students' needs)
Levels: Beginning, Intermediate, Advanced levels
Fees: $30 per 2-hour class;
6 weeks: $360 including books & CDs;
8 weeks: $480 including books & CDs;
10 weeks: $600 including books & CDs;
14 weeks: $840.00 including books & CDs

An adult class
Regular Chinese Language Courses for Children
Play and Learn Chinese (age pre-K to age 6)
Time: Sundays, 10-11 a.m.
Length: Variable, up to 14 weeks
Location: University of Maryland at College Park, CIM in Holzapfel Hall, Room 134
Target maximum: 9 students
This course is designed for preliterate through Kindergarten-aged children (3-6 years of age). The children will learn Chinese through games, activities and songs. Topics include greetings, family members, numbers, colors, parts of the body, food and drinks, etc. This course is designed as a review for children who have previously attend the CIM children's class as well as children new to the Chinese language. No prior Chinese language experience is required. The children will learn to use simple words and phrases. Parent participation is expected.
The cost is $10 per child per class. Students may sign up for a minimum of 6 classes up to 14 classes. The teacher is an experienced, native Chinese, elementary school teacher. Children's class
Introduction to Chinese for Early Elementary Students (ages 6 to 9 years)
Time: Sundays, 11 a.m.-12 p.m.
Length: Variable, up to 14 weeks
Location: University of Maryland at College Park, CIM in Holzapfel Hall, Room 134
Target maximum: 10 students
This course is designed for literate children ages 6-9 years old. The children will learn to speak, read and write Chinese. They will be introduced to pinyin (the romanized alphabet used to help pronounce Chinese) as well as learn some Chinese characters. Simultaneously, the children will also learn to speak some key words and phrases. Parent participation is not required but is encouraged.

Time: Friday late afternoons, 5 p.m. (the schedule will depend on parents’ need),

Winter Intensive Chinese Language Courses
Times: Offered on demand, 30 hours of intensive instruction.

1) Rockville site near Rockville Metro, if there is enough demand.
2) College Park campus
Levels: Beginning, Intermediate, Advanced levels.
Tuition Fee: $480, including books and CDs.
