Alternative Break, 2010
Guatemala (Winter) - The trip will be working with Reserva Los Andes (www.andescloudforest.org) in the areas of various social areas such as sustainable agriculture, fair trade or education.
Bahamas (Winter) - Combining environmental restoration work with education and community outreach opportunities, participants will gain an understanding of the Bahamian environment, how it is affected by tourism, and an appreciation of its role in Bahamian society.
Dominican Republic (Spring Break) - Orphanhood and Education. More details TBD.

Center for Cultural Interchange (CCI)
Programs for 2-12 weeks in 13 different countries.
Cross Cultural Solutions
Provides humanitarian assistance in Brazil, China, Costa Rica, Ghana, India, Peru, Russia, Tanzania and Thailand. Volunteer and fee-based. Includes a sample fund-raising proposal.
Cultural Embrace
Allows individuals and pre-arranged groups to intern, volunteer, work, teach, take cultural classes, and travel abroad to Africa, Asia, Australia, Europe, and Latin America.
El Nahual
El Nahual is a small non profit language center that offers volunteer opportunities at their site in Quetzaltenango, Guatemala. El Nahual's primary function is to improve the lives of people in Guatemala through a number of projects. Volunteers must have a strong ability to communicate in the Spanish language, be able to commit to 2 months of volunteering and be interested in community development and social justice.

Global Youth Partnership for AfricaUnite for Sight
Unite for Sight is a nonprofit organization that empowers communities worlwide to improve eye health and eliminate preventable blindness. Volunteers work with partner eye clinics in India and Ghana to provide eye care in communities without previous access.
OIC International
OIC was founded to assist African citizens develop the skills needed to take advantage of new work opportunities. Employment, internship and volunteer opportunities are available in their U.S. and field offices in Africa for varying projects and lengths of time.

Amigos is an international development organization that focuses on health projects throughout Latin America. Volunteers spend 4-8 weeks in local villages and work on projects involving animal health, community sanitation, immunization, public health, community development and others.

Peace Corps
This government agency is one of the largest work abroad programs for U.S. citizens, offering paid opportunities in over 90 countries including Africa, Latin America, South and Southeast Asia, Eastern Europe and the former USSR.
ProWorld
Offers short term and semester length volunteer programs in numerous countries in Latin America for health, environmental and social and economic development issues.
