Welcome to the University of Maryland's Office of International Services (OIS). We assist international students with the process of applying to Maryland, advising on immigration requirements, and making the most of the academic experience here. OIS also assists the campus community involved with international educational exchange in the process of bringing international visitors to campus, or in sending Maryland faculty and students abroad.

A Leader in International Education

Currently, 10.6 percent of the students who are enrolled at UMD this year came from outside the United States, placing Maryland, for more than 15 years, among the top 35 U.S. universities serving international students. With approximately 4,000 international students and 1,400 international faculty and scholars on campus, there are more than 137 different countries represented in our university community. We believe that this rich multi-national, multi-cultural environment benefits the entire campus.
