OIS will assist departments with questions about academics, immigration requirements, employment, and community life for international visitors on campus. This section provides information to assist departments with advising students, scholars, trainees and interns.

Brown Bag Seminars for Faculty and Staff

The Office of International Services is pleased to announce a new series of brown bag seminars open exclusively to faculty and staff at the University of Maryland, College Park. This seminar series offers resources and professional development for departmental administrators and faculty as they seek to educate and serve UMCP's diverse international community. *NEW!* Global Certificate Program

Faculty and staff who attend a minimum number of Brown Bag Seminars or other eligible OIS-sponsored workshops may qualify for a certificate of completion in the Global Certificate Program. Certificates may be earned in one of three tracks: the Employment track, the Cultural track, and the Academic track.

To earn a certificate of completion, a faculty/staff member must attend at least seven Brown Bag Seminars or other eligible OIS-sponsored workshops. Four of those seven should be seminars from the same track: employment, cultural or academic. Once the faculty/staff member has attended the required number of seminars, a certificate of completion in one of the three tracks will be issued.

On-Call Seminars for Department Groups

Do you have a large group of administrators in your department who might benefit from a special session? Would your faculty meetings be enhanced by an OIS presentation? The Office of International Services can assist departments by offering on-call seminars for groups of 5 or more departmental administrators or faculty.
