If you are an organization that would like to promote its services to the Maryland international community please consider sponsoring an International Coffee Hour. The International Coffee Hour atmosphere is friendly and informal and we think you'll enjoy the opportunity to publicize your programs and activities to the attendees.
During the Fall and Spring semesters the International Coffee Hour is held every Wednesday from 3:00 to 4:30pm in the ground floor lounge of Dorchester Hall.
Sponsors are asked to bring program literature to share, along with fellow staff members and student workers. Our aim is to help the international community become more familiar with your services and for you to learn more about their backgrounds and needs. At a mid-way point of the coffee hour, if you would like, we will introduce you and have you take five minutes to explain your services to the whole group and answer any questions.
We also request that sponsors supply refreshments for 75 to 100 people. This usually includes cold drinks and snacks such as fruits/vegetables, chips, crackers, cookies, or doughnuts. Sponsors often purchase these items from grocery stores and spend between $60-75. Creativity is most encouraged!
Items such as ice, coffee, tea, cups, napkins, serving utensils and trays are provided by the Office of International Education Services.
