The Institute for Global Chinese Affairs at the University of Maryland designed and hosted an Advanced Executive Education Program for 21 senior executives from Baosteel Group from June 12 to June 19, 2008. The delegation included unit presidents, plant managers, and department directors from a wide range of specialties including human resources, production, corporate responsibility, and sales.
Trainees studied globalization strategies of U.S. enterprises with a focus on mergers and acquisitions. The delegation visited the Research Center of the National Association of Home Builders, Black & Decker, the Federal Reserve Bank, and Alliance-Bernstein. Lecturers included a senior mergers and acquisitions lawyer from a major energy company, an international business development specialist, and a senior fellow at the University of Maryland with leadership experience in the federal government.
