MEI Partnership Programs

As part of its mission, MEI offers customized English language programs and services for members of the global community. We work closely with our global partners to meet their needs and to foster a positive and supportive learning community that promotes cross-cultural understanding. Examples of customized program we offer include:

English for Teaching Seminar - This two-week, highly interactive seminar course is for non-native English speaking professors from European countries. During the program, faculty visitors will participate in workshops, observe UM classrooms, and participate in cultural activities to hone language comprehension and understanding of American curriculum styles.

AGU in America - Students from Aoyama Gakuin University in Japan majoring in international politics, international economics and international communications are chosen for this program. They are able to explore their major in a U.S. context, and live life as an American student during this two-week course.

TU in Washington - Tunghai University in China sends a delegation of students to UM for this two-week summer program. All students complete a field project, which focuses on an area of American culture.
