Program Calendar

Program Dates: May 24-June 2, 2008

• January 2008: Summer term application form available
• February 15, 2007: Summer Term Scholarship application deadline
• Last day to apply: Thursday, March 13, 2008
• May 5 or 6, 2008: General pre-departure orientation (4:30 p.m. in 0135 Armory)
• May 2008: Program specific pre-departure orientation (exact time and place TBD)
• May 24, 2008: Group flight departs U.S.
• June 2, 2008: Program end date
• June 2, 2008: Group flight departs back to U.S.

ˆStudents are required to complete one and a half days of coursework on campus before the departure date.

Program Costs

Program Fee: $1,350 includes:

• tuition
• lodging
• breakfast & dinner at pension
  
• all entry fees to sites
• van transportation from Charles de Gaulle airport to Paris
• twenty Paris Metro tickets
  

A $30 application fee is due with the application. If admitted to the program, a $270 non-refundable deposit will be charged to the student's UM account or billed to non-UM students. The remainder of the program fee will be charged to the enrolled students' UM accounts in April or billed to non-UM students.

Other Costs

Students are responsible for

• personal expenses
• lunches and other meals outside the pension
  
• international airfare*

*The Study Abroad Office will suggest a group flight itinerary that each student is responsible for purchasing directly from a travel agent. Although flight costs are not guaranteed and will vary, we estimate round-trip airfare for this program from the Washington, DC area will be approximately $1200. Once admitted, you should expect to purchase the flight for the program a few weeks later, usually in mid-March.

Financial Aid and Scholarships

The Study Abroad Office offers scholarships for undergraduate students to attend summer term programs. These scholarships are awarded based on academic achievement and financial need. Scholarship applications are due on Friday, February 15, 2008.
