I want to pursue independent study or an internship while I'm abroad. Is this possible?

Several Maryland programs offer internships as an option:  Maryland-in-London, Maryland-in-Haifa, Maryland-in-Shanghai, and Maryland-in-Alcala. Haifa also offers fieldwork. 

If you wish to do an internship with a UM partner program or with a non-UM program, you will need to work with your academic department to see if they will provide you with credit for the experience.   The Study Abroad Office cannot determine whether such credit can be transferred back to Maryland.
