For Parents

Dear Parent:

Congratulations on your student’s interest in studying abroad! The Study Abroad staff at the University of Maryland has helped thousands of students complete academic work abroad across six continents. As a result, we are well-equipped to help both you and your student smoothly navigate the study abroad process.

Our office provides a range of support services to aid your student – from assisting with class registration, to evaluating transcripts for credit, we are involved in all aspects of the experience.

This section of the website is designed to provide comprehensive information about the study abroad process. Please visit the links on the right to view financial aid information, health and safety tips, program opportunities, and much more.

On a final note, your student’s study abroad experience is truly a once-in-a-lifetime gift, and a chance to develop personal skills that will hopefully resonate their whole lives. I commend your student for choosing to step outside their comfort zone to see all the world has to offer.

I hope you will find the following information helpful; however, if you have any questions, please don’t hesitate to call our office at (301) 314-7746.

We look forward to working with both you and your student.

Sincerely,

Michael Ulrich
