Although flight costs are not guaranteed and will vary, we will make every effort to keep airfare to a minimum. The estimated costs for round-trip airfare from the Washington, DC area to St. Maarten, returning from Grenada, will be approximately $1,100. Once admitted, you should expect to purchase the flight for the program a few weeks later, usually in mid-October.
Financial Aid and Scholarships
The Study Abroad Office offers partial scholarships for UM undergraduate students to aid with the cost of attending a Winter Term program. These scholarships are awarded based on academic achievement and financial need. The last day to apply for WT scholarships is Thursday, September 18, 2008.
Application fee and deposit:
A non-refundable $30 application fee is due with the application.
Applicants understand that if admitted to the program, they are responsible for paying a non-refundable $270 deposit. This deposit, non-refundable under any circumstances, will be charged to the student's UM account or billed to non-UM students.
The remainder of the program fee will be charged to the enrolled students' UM accounts in November or billed to non-UM students.
