All University of Maryland students who have been accepted in to a study abroad program must attend a pre-departure orientation. This orientation will be geared either to your program in specific (for Maryland programs) and/or to living abroad in general (for non-Maryland programs). Topics covered during orientation include in-country transportation, safety, money, support services, academics, etc. These are invaluable sessions which will give you the insights to living and studying overseas. Maryland Semester and Year Programs:
- Visit your program page, click on "Orientation"
- The UM Study Abroad staff will notify you after acceptance of the date, time, and location of your orientation
