Pre-Departure Orientation

All University of Maryland students who have been accepted in to a study abroad program must attend a pre-departure orientation. This orientation will be geared either to your program in specific (for Maryland programs) and/or to living abroad in general (for non-Maryland programs). Topics covered during orientation include in-country transportation, safety, money, support services, academics, etc. These are invaluable sessions which will give you the insights to living and studying overseas. For orientation dates, times, and locations, please see below:

Maryland Semester and Year Programs:
- Visit your program page, click on "Orientation"
- The UM Study Abroad staff will notify you after acceptance of the date, time, and location of your orientation

Maryland Winter Programs (attend only one):
Monday, December 1 (0131 Armory)
Tuesday, December 2 (0126 Armory)
4.30-6.00p

Each program will also have an orientation with the faculty director of that program

Non-Maryland Programs (attend only one):
Monday, December 8 (0131 Armory)
Tuesday, December 9 (0126 Armory)
