Maryland in London

Study Abroad in England at the London Metropolitan University

London, the cosmopolitan hub of England and world leader in business and finance, is also home to the University of Maryland’s oldest study abroad program, Maryland-in-London. Students on this program can pair their academic lessons with a variety of cultural experiences including visits to Shakespeare’s Globe Theatre, film premieres at Leicester Square and historic tours of Kensington Palace.

Participating students enroll in two types of academic courses. The first, taught by University of Maryland adjunct professors, focuses primarily on London and Britain. The second directly enrolls students at London Metropolitan University for either one or two courses (standard fee) or three courses (additional fee) of their choosing.

Maryland-in-London is open to all UM students, as well as students from other accredited American universities. There are usually fewer than 50 participants on the program, which allows for a more personalized experience.

England In order to qualify, applicants must have a minimum GPA of 2.75 and demonstrate proficient writing abilities. Students can enroll in the Maryland-in-London program for the full year, or they can choose to study for the Fall or Spring semester.
