Program Dates: July 28 - August 19, 2008

• Second week of January: Summer application form available
• February 15, 2008: Summer Term Scholarship application deadline
  
• Last day to apply: Tuesday, April 1, 2008
  
• May 5 or 6, 4.30p, ARM0135: General pre-departure orientation (attend only one)
  
• Spring semester 2008: Program specific pre-departure orientation (TBA)
  
• July 28, 2008: Group flight departs US
• August 19, 2008: Program end date
• August 19, 2008: Group flight departs Austria and returns to U.S.

Program Costs

2008 Program Fee: $5,688 includes

• tuition (6 credits)
  
• full room and board costs (PLS NOTE: Most study abroad programs do not include all meals, but this program does.)
• excursions

A $30 application fee is due with the application. If admitted to the program, a $270 non-refundable deposit will be charged to the student's UM account or billed to non-UM students. The remainder of the program fee will be charged to the enrolled students' UM accounts in April or billed to non-UM students.

Other Costs

Students are responsible for

*The study abroad office will suggest a group flight itinerary that each student is responsible for purchasing directly from a travel agent. Although flight costs are not guaranteed and will vary, we estimate round-trip airfare for this program from the Washington, DC area will be approximately $1,300. Once admitted, you should expect to purchase the flight for the program a few weeks later, usually in mid-March.

Financial Aid and Scholarships

The Study Abroad Office offers scholarships for undergraduate UM students to attend Summer Term programs. These scholarships are awarded based on academic achievement and financial need. The last day to apply for scholarships is Friday, February 15, 2008.
