Options for Non-Maryland Students

Certain University of Maryland study abroad programs are open to students registered at other institutions, including other University System of Maryland (USM) campuses.

Non-Maryland students are not required to meet with a UM Study Abroad Advisor, but are encouraged to contact us with any questions about the programs or applications.

  • The same policies and procedures apply to all students, regardless of whether you are currently registered at the University of Maryland.
  • All undergraduate students, regardless of residency, pay the same published program fee for the above programs.
  • Non-Maryland graduate students only pay $60 more than the published program fee.

How to apply

  • Review the specific program pages for eligibility requirements
  • Contact the program assistant with any questions
  • Complete and print the Program Application form for your Winter Term or Semester program*
  • Send all application materials TOGETHER to the Study Abroad Office by the program deadline.

* Application forms for non-Maryland students who wish to apply to UM Summer or Fall programs will be available in January 2009.
