Students on the DIS program have several housing options. In addition to this page, you may visit the DIS housing webpage for more detailed information on each housing option, as well as guidelines on which option may be the best for you.
DIS will arrange for any interested student to live with a Danish family during their time abroad. Meals are included. Please visit the DIS Family Stay webpage for more information.
Students can also apply to live in a Danish student dormitory, known as a kollegium. Students are responsible for their own meals in a kollegium. DIS provides students who choose this option with a food stipend. Please visit the DIS Kollegium webpage for more information.
Students have the option of living in an apartment with a Danish roommate in Greater Copenhagen. This is an excellent experience to become friends with a young Danish professional or student. DIS provides students who choose this option with a food stipend. Please visit the DIS Danish Roommate webpage for more information.
A Folkehøjskole is a type of communal home with a slight focus on academics in which program participants will live with Danish students. Please visit the DIS Folkehøjskole webpage for more information.
DIS housing is dormitory-style living located close to the city center and to DIS classes. Most often, students share a room with one other DIS student; commons areas are shared with a few additional students. There are no Danes in this housing option. Visit the Shared DIS Housing webpage for more information.
Students may also arrange to find their own housing in Copenhagen.
For additional information about all housing options, please see the DIS housing main webpage.
