Application

Eligibility

The Sevilla program is open to all students who have a serious interest in Spain and in increasing their proficiency in the Spanish language. Applicants should be open-minded and flexible.

In addition, students must have an overall grade point average of at least a 2.75.

Students must also demonstrate Spanish ability. Those applying must demonstrate that they have received a B or better in one college-level Spanish course.

The Admissions Process

Admissions for the Sevilla program are on a rolling basis. As a result, early submissions are strongly advised, as space is limited. Applicants are not guaranteed admission, even if they meet the minimum requirements.

All applications must be submitted to the Study Abroad Office by the application deadline. A complete application includes:

  • Completed Elf Form application - AVAILABLE IN JANUARY
  • Personal Statement
  • Letter of recommendation from Spanish instructor
  • Official transcript
  • Non-refundable $50 application fee, made payable to the University of Maryland
